Commissions
Journal Entry: Mon Mar 31, 2008, 6:19 PM
Okay, I've decided to take the plunge. It's a financial thing; money's been extremely tight since I lost my job of 14 years back in February. I have a new job now, nowhere near as stressful, but also nowhere near as financially secure. I've had people ask me time and time again if I offered commissions, but my old job was so stressful, and ate up so much time, that I usually demurred. I just didn't have the time or energy to draw things other people wanted.
Now, though, it seems like I have both time and energy, so I'm opening up for commissions. I think I can maintain about 5 at any given time, and will get to them first come, first serve. The process that I like works like this. The customer contacts me with what they want; we narrow down the specifics involved, and I quote a price. After that, I will produce a rough sketch for the customer's perusal, then finalize any necessary changes. I will produce a rough scan of the finished piece; if that's acceptable, then I will wait for payment to arrive, and as soon as it does, I'll send the full, finished piece. If you want the actual physical artwork, send me a self-addressed stamped envelope to place it in, something that is sturdy enough to hold the art.
Things I will NOT draw: anything involving pedophilia or bestiality. Other subjects may squick me out (I'm just listing my definite no-nos here), but we may be able to work around them.
All drawings will be at 8 1/2" by 11", scanned in at 300 DPI.
Pencil: $20
Inked: $30
Ink with Prismacolor Greyscale: $35
Larger pieces will cost more, as will more complicated ones. The prices shown assume a single figure on a blank or very simple background.
Paypal and I have problems, so I will accept checks and money orders.
Thanks to everyone who's asked me about this over the last few years
